President-Elect Donald Trump Calls For Unity In Thanksgiving Holiday Video Message

President-elect Donald J. Trump gave a Thanksgiving video message where he called for unity in a torn America.

“Emotions are raw and tensions just don’t heal overnight,” the next President of the United States said. “It’s my prayer that on this Thanksgiving we begin to heal our divisions and move forward as one country strengthened by shared purpose and very, very common resolve.”

“I’m asking you to join me in this effort. It’s time to restore the bonds of trust between citizens,” the incoming Commander-in-Chief said in the YouTube video.

The President-elect seems to be willing to take his own advice as he has hired someone who had criticized him during his campaign. Trump tapped South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, as United Nations ambassador. Haley is the daughter of Indian immigrants and was the first woman and the first minority to lead South Carolina. Trump is also considering former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who led anti-Trump efforts, as Secretary of State.

Trump gathered with his family at his Palm Beach estate for Thanksgiving, taking a break from filling out his administration.
