This evening President Obama addressed the nation from the White House for only the third time in Presidency. He specifically called out San Bernardino, naming it as an act of terrorism: “This was an act of terrorism designed to kill innocent people.”
In the 15 minute speech, Obama called ISIS “thugs and killers” and “part of a cult of death.” He outlined his plans for continued special forces attacks against ISIS, asked Congress to vote to authorize the use of force in Syria, pledged to make it harder for domestic terrorists to get weapons, and asked for Americans to be united as a freedom-loving country to not discriminate against our fellow patriotic, freedom-loving Muslim Americans.
