A Waitress Was Fired After Sending A Super Racist Snapchat That Her Customer Wound Up Seeing

A customer in Tennessee who had a lovely experience at a restaurant was shocked when a friend showed her a Snapchat her server sent during their lunch, calling her a racial slur.

Chelsea Mayes and some friends went to Cheddar’s in Murfreesboro and thought they’d had a lovely waitress. Mayes said the experience was good enough to merit a generous tip.

But later that eveniing, she got a text from a friend with a screenshot of a Snap. It was their server from earlier.

You can probably figure out what the blocked out word says.

Mayes took to Facebook to share her experience and the post has since gone viral. She said she wants people to know that “You never truly know the person behind the smile. No matter how much joy and love you spread, there will always be people with hate in their heart toward you.”

She concluded by saying “This n—– still loves you.”

Cheddar’s, though, had less love and fired the server.

“We, ourselves, were shocked and offended after learning one of our servers had posted comments on social media that were hurtful and derogatory,” said Lee Greer, president of Mint Julep Restaurant Management Group Inc. and owner/operator of Cheddar’s Murfreesboro. “This type of behavior will never be tolerated in our restaurants. The server was immediately suspended and ultimately terminated after our internal investigation.”

Mayes said she would live to invite the server to her Sunday school class to help “give her a different outlook.”
