Restaurant Allegedly Kicks Out Gays, Community Takes Hilarious Revenge By Advertising Restaurant As A New Gay Bar

It’s nice to think that in this day and age people have generally become more accepting of others and their sexual dispositions, however unfortunate cases like this are a constant reminder that not everyone has necessarily caught up with the times.

Texas restaurant Big Earl’s Bait House and Country Store is not only an establishment that sounds like a perfect place to contract hepatitis, but one that allegedly doesn’t cater to homosexuals. Or, as they reportedly put it, “we don’t serve fags here.”

CBS-DFW reported that a waitress at Big Earl’s Bait House and Country Store in Pittsburg told Collin Dewberry and Kelley Williams: “To put it plainly, we don’t serve fags here.”

She also pointed out the establishment’s rules, displayed on the door, which read: “Welcome to Big Earl’s where men act like men, women act like ladies, no saggy pants and we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.”

From my experience the “establishment rules” at the front of most restaurants are basically disclaimers for them to kick out whoever they want, which is clearly the case here. But what can you do? The restaurant can make whatever rules it wants.

You know what it can’t do though? Completely erase Yelp reviews that paint it as a giant gay bar. Here’s a sampling of what people have left on Yelp page for Big Earl’s:

It looks like Big Earl has been busy reporting “inappropriate” reviews though, since 1058 reviews of the restaurant have been removed for violating Yelp’s content guidelines or terms of service.

The Internet doesn’t forget though, and the following reviews have been immortalized at Mirror:

“The place is pretty well decorated with plenty of naked bodybuilder posters! Picked up several guys on the ‘Country Store’ (lol), definitely the place to be on the States if you enjoy company of the same sex.”

Another adds, simply: “Best gay bar in Texas” while user Lori G added: “I wish I could give this establishment 0 stars. I was sorely disappointed because I had heard Big Earl’s was overrun with gays so I went there to try to meet some women.

“But there were NO LESBIANS anywhere in the restaurant. Just a lot of gay guys. TONS OF GAY GUYS EVERYWHERE. Don’t get me wrong, I love gay men, I was just hoping to meet a nice woman.
“They don’t even have fish tacos on the menu.”

Supposedly there’s talk in the Dallas LGBT community of making a giant group trip to Big Earl’s, and according to Christina Cheney who is not only Big Earl’s daughter but also the waitress who allegedly kicked out Collin and Kelley, they’ll be ready.

“If there’s any problems, they will be taken care of appropriately.

“We are aware that they are attempting to come out here. We’re ready for them; we have informed the Sheriff’s department and the state.”

Uh, nice statement there Christina. Making it sound like WWIII is about to explode between you and the gay community at your shitty backwater restaurant probably isn’t the best stance to take when it comes to talking to the media, considering you’re under scrutiny for being alleged bigots.

Here’s a handy “How-to” guide on how to handle this:

Step 1: Insert foot into mouth.
Step 2: Stop talking.

VOILA! You’re 800x more competent than you were before, although that isn’t saying much since 0 x 800 still equals 0.
