Do You Think This Kid’s ‘Broad City’ Shirt Was So Vulgar That He Deserved To Be Kicked Off A Plane?

New York college kid Daniel Podolsky was traveling from Dallas to Chicago when his plane made an emergency landing in St. Louis due to weather conditions. However, when it came time to re-board his flight Daniel was pulled aside by Southwest staff because his shirt blatantly read “Broad Fucking City.” Prior to their unexpected layover, Daniel’s shirt had been concealed by a jacket he was wearing, but since he had taken it off upon getting back on the plane the Southwest Airlines staff now saw that his shirt was in violation of what I’m assuming is one of their fine print policies. You know, all that shit at the bottom of your ticket that no one reads.

“It’s only when I got back on the plane when it was gonna take off, ya know, you have this much space, you’re gonna take your jacket off because it’s hot,” he explained. “I took my jacket off, so he sent someone to remove me from the flight.” (Via)

Podolsky claims that he was given no option other than to exit the flight and that had he been offered an alternative he would’ve gladly taken it. However, a video that Podolsky himself recorded while he was being removed from the flight tells a different story:

Long story short: pick your battles. Who cares about covering a shirt up when it’s either that or have to find an alternate flight home? Flying is a pain in the ass and if you’re stubborn enough to the point where you intentionally make it harder for yourself, you don’t have any room to complain.
