Friendship knows no gender, knows no age, knows no species. My best friend is a female dog who’s 29 years my junior. That’s what makes it so beautiful, I think.
So I was pretty devastated to learn that the Omaha Nebraska police force lost their favorite squirrel this week.
We are sad to announce that @OpdSquirrel has been found dead in the parking lot. We are not investigating. #OPD https://t.co/RvXqlg3fPF via

Apparently the squirrel, who did not have a name, hung out around the station and was fed granola and nuts by officers.
The squirrel had become so popular, they started a Twitter account for him.
Look how brutal this is.

Damn. That’s love.
It is unknown how the squirrel died.
