This ‘Artist’ Is Stealing Other People’s Instagram Photos And Selling Them For $100K A Piece

Richard Prince, an “artist”, has blown up a bunch of Instagram photos and put them on display in New York.

And the asshole isn’t just take the photo, he’s including the Instagram handle along with the number of likes and comment. The dick has even made sure to include his own personal comment on the photos into the “art”, serving as the ultimate fuck you.

Here’s how he gets away with it and his level of assholity —

According to Petapixel, “Prince is notorious in the art world for taking other people’s work, ‘appropriating’ them as his own with various changes, and then selling them for large amounts of dough.” And no, he did not get permission for these prints, which are screenshots of the images with one addition from Prince, “a short message [he] posted as the last comment on each one.”

Artnet addressed the exhibit in a piece titled “Richard Prince Sucks,” where they write: “In another image, he writes under young singer-songwriter Sky Ferreira’s portrait of herself in the passenger seat of a red sports car: ‘Enjoyed the ride today. Let’s do it again. Richard.’ If she had a snide response to the leering comment, we never learn what it was. Like a true troll, Prince always gives himself the last word.”

And guess how much money the original artists see of the $100K? None.

If you’re one photos is one of the pilfered, there’s almost nothing you can do about it. Prince has been “rephotographing” pictures since the 1970s. He’s been sued before, and actually won, since his work — including these stolen Instagram images — falls under fair use.

‘Merica.

The picture above is from my Instagram account so back the fuck up, Princy.
