My only regret in 2015 is that I didn’t have the chance to post this video yesterday, on Taco Tuesday, our most sacred of days. The gist of the video is this: Frijoles & Frescas Grilled Tacos is a taco shop that got robbed, and some very clear footage was captured of the burglars. Instead of rolling over and taking it from the criminals the taco shop responded by turning their CCTV footage into the greatest taco commercial of the 21st century:
Everybody loves tacos. I know that, you know that, and Frijoles & Frescas Grilled Tacos knows that. Sure, if you have any information regarding who the criminals at large might be they’re looking for help in solving the crime and you can call ‘702-385-5555 – LVMPD Crime Stoppers’ with any info, but this isn’t really about that. They found a way to turn a really shitty situation into a shining moment for tacos and the taco industry as a whole.
I’ve never eaten at Frijoles & Frescas Grilled Tacos but if I ever find myself near their Las Vegas location I’ll certainly throw them a couple bucks in exchange for delicious tacos, because they’ve demonstrated they’re not a run-of-the-mill taqueria. They could have just filed a police report + insurance claim and gone about their business, instead they flipped this into an awesome opportunity for publicity. A++ work.
