The Balls On This Teacher Who Came To Work Drunk On Same Day Police Were There Giving Anti-Alcohol Classes

Most jobs you can get away with being buzzed and not get into much trouble especially if you aren’t working with heavy machinery or driving. But parents really blow a gasket if the person that is responsible for caring for their children are drunk. Just ask Carissa Bryant.

The 33-year-old Bryant was arrested on Wednesday after it was apparent that she had been indulging in a few alcoholic beverages earlier in the morning. Bryant is a sixth-grade teacher at Lenihan Intermediate School in Marshalltown, located about 52 miles northeast of Des Moines in central Iowa.

Marshall County Sheriff’s deputies didn’t have to go very far to investigate the incident. They didn’t even need to venture outside because they were already at the school presenting DARE anti-drug and alcohol demonstrations. After a quick walk down the hallway they discovered a very intoxicated Bryant.

And isn’t it ironic… don’t you think?

Cops gave Bryant a sobriety test on the spot. She allegedly slurred her speech and appeared bleary-eyed. She also blew a .19 blood alcohol concentration, more than twice the legal limit. Bryant told deputies that she last drank alcohol at 3 a.m. on Wednesday. She was then arrested and charged with public intoxication.

District spokesman Andrew Potter said Bryant has been placed on administrative leave pending investigation.

I actually think this was the greatest demonstration on the dangers of drinking. No dumb PSA video or lecture is going to inform kids the perils of alcohol better than seeing your teacher get hauled away in handcuffs by cops. Best life lesson ever.

A little too ironic…and, yeah, I really do think…
