High School Cheerleaders Perform 9/11-Themed Routine That Will Melt The Steel Beams Of Your Heart

Lee Greenwood’s version of ‘God Bless the U.S.’ that has quotes from 9/11 playing during it is nearly as moving as Bruce Springsteen’s version of ‘Secret Garden’ with lines from Jerry Maguire.

Hearing George Bush promise to track down the perpetrators behind the heinous acts will make you well up like when Renée Zellweger says “I love him. I love him for the man that he is and the man that he wants to be,” over the soft strums of the Boss’s acoustic guitar.

Damn, that one’s so good. Here, let’s listen.

What were we talking about? Oh, right. A Texas high school cheerleading team performed a routine to honor September 11th set to Greenwood’s song and quotes from the infamous day. People are upset.

Seems okay by me, though. Some kicks, some flips, a point where they hold up a sign dated August 6th that reads “Bin Laden determined to strike inside the U.S.”

All respectful of the fallen. If you can’t support a little rah rah “2, 4, 6, 8, who do we appreciate? The 2,996 people who lost their life in Washington, New York and Pennsylvania,” what can you get behind?
