‘Top 10 Cities White People Like,’ Ranked By Patagonias, Marijuana Use, Sushi Restaurants, and Microbrews
Whether they realize it or not, white people are obsessed with some pretty crazy shit: Patagonias, farmers markets, sushi, “indie” music, brunch “with my girls.” Remember when Stuff White People Like was the toast of the Internet back in the halcyon days of 2009? That blog did an excellent job mocking the privileged white stereotypes, eventually mining its way to a book deal.
Thinking about all the funny stuff white people like and how it fits into a metropolitan area, real estate website Movoto just unveiled a list of the Top 10 cities White People Like. Here are the 25 factors they used as criteria to create the list:

Before we go any further, I think it’s important to note that when they say “white people,” the really mean liberal, well-educated upper-middle-class white people, not the redneck, blue collar garden variety kind. So what are the top 10 cities this pretentious yuppie white person lives in, according to Movoto?
Ah… Portland. The city “where young people go to retire.” That makes sense.
But, if you’re anything like me, you’re probably surprised to not see a couple of bastions of 2014 white people yuppie-dom on the list: Boulder/Denver is the snub of the century, everyone and their brother seems to move to Austin for a year in their 20s (“…the cost of living is sooooo affordable!”), and many parts of Manhattan and Brooklyn in 2014 might as well be hipster white people Epcot Centers.
I mean… Is there anything white people love more than disagreeing with arbitrary real estate lists?
Accurate? Or way, way off? Discuss in the comments.
