The results are in, and we now know the Top 10 Dog Names of 2016, the most popular pup names of the year. Spoiler alert: the names aren’t too far off from the list of Top 10 Baby Names of 2016 because they’re all humanoid names, and not names like ‘Spot’ or ‘Fido’.
Over at Rover.com, they’ve put together this extensive infographic showing the Top 10 Dog Names of 2016 (top 5 for male dogs and top 5 for the bitches). Six out of the top 10 dog names of 2016 were also amongst the top 10 baby names this year. And as you’ll see below, there was also a massive spike amongst millennials in naming dogs after a TV, book, or movie character with 75% of millennials choosing to go this route.

I have to admit that even though my dog’s 5 years old I’m happy that I don’t see her name on this list. Not that there’s anything wrong with being a follower, I just prefer to be a trendsetter, it’s totally cool if your dog’s name is on that list above, I’m not judging, not at all….
