USAirways Will Not Fire the Person Responsible for Its Vagina Plane Tweet

By now you know the story of the time USAirways accidentally tweeted a photo of a woman shoving a model airplane into her vagina. If you don’t, it goes a little something like this: USAirways accidentally tweeted a photo of a woman shoving a model airplane into her vagina.

Today, yesterday’s most popular airline said it will not fire the employee responsible for the tweet. A spokesman called it an honest mistake, saying the picture was originally sent to them.

“It was an honest mistake. It was in an attempt to flag the tweet as inappropriate,” said spokesman Matt Miller after the photo was allegedly first posted on their wall by an undisclosed Twitter user.

Right, because the process of flagging a tweet requires copying the photo URL (it doesn’t). Whoever saw it obviously copied the link to forward to friends, and then accidentally pasted it into a response to a customer.

I’m glad he’ or she is not getting fired. One, people do actually make mistakes. Two, it’s fucking Twitter. Who gives a shit? We all had a laugh and no harm actually occurred.
