The YouTube channel AsapScience put together a video predicting what humanity will look like 1,000 years from now using queues such as how far we’ve advanced over the past 10,000 years, current technological initiatives, and where humanity is perceived to be headed. Long story short? We’re all going to be cyborgs, very hot cyborgs.
We’re all going to have nanobots injected into our bodies to make us hyperintelligent. Given how much taller human beings have become over the past several centuries it’s safe to assume that we’re going to all be of (current) NBA caliber height. There’s speculation on new eye colors coming into existence due to genetic mutations, or that human beings will develop the ability to ingest anything at all (rocks, glass, metal, poison?).
Many of the genetic diseases that currently ravage our society will be stamped out, because we’ll all be implementing gene modification during the gestation stage of pregnancy. However, with the prevalence of religion in our world I’m much less optimistic that this will take off. And chances are we’re going to see a new disease that will ravage humanity, and this may or may not be combatted by space travel and colonization.
