Here Are A Few Key Things To Know About Oakmont Country Club Prior To The 2016 U.S. Open

While I have never played Oakmont Country Club (still waiting for a wealthily widow to invite me) history tells me that the course is nothing short of a complete motherfucker. Just a tough, tough track that can take a toll on your confidence and completely destroy your will to live. Honestly, I don’t know if my ego could handle playing Oakmont in U.S. Open conditions and shooting the most embarrassing score of my lifetime. The confidence I have in my golf game is a very fragile thing. One bad hole and things usually go completely off the rails.

Anyway, the last time a U.S. Open was played at Oakmont, the winning score was 5-over-par. Depending on how nasty the USGA decides to be, this year’s U.S. Open scores might be even higher, because who doesn’t like watching the world’s best golfers get thrown face first into a goddamn buzz saw? I sure do.

Below are a few more things to keep in mind while watching the 2016 U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club.
