Marcel Kittel collapsed onto the ground following a win at the Giro d’Italia stage into Dublin, and a fan said “LEMME TAKE A SELFIE.”
Needless to say, the image of David McCarthy snapping a photo beside a clearly pained Kittel caused an uproar in Ireland—the caption, “Instead of giving him a hand up I took a selfie” didn’t really help matters—and McCarthy reached out to Kittel today with an apology.
The man is nothing if not technically savvy: The apology is written as an iPhone Notes screenshot.
Somehow McCarthy hasn’t even cracked 300 Instagram followers for his efforts. Help this guy out, you guys. He’s trying really hard.
