Boston Bruins Honor Fallen Firefighters With On-Ice Tribute

Honoring the departed is something Boston sports teams have been been forced to do way too much of over the last year. But the classy way they handle local tragedy continues to inspire.

Before last night’s game against the ChicagoBlackhawks, the Bruins paid tribute to two heroic firefighters — Michael R. Kennedy and Edward J. Walsh, Jr.– who died battling a blaze on Wednesday.

Bruins players wore fire department hats during warmups and a raffle was held with the proceeds going toward the victims’ familes.
