Just a week after claiming ESPN fired her because of her conservative views, Britt McHenry is back on the offensive and this time she’s going after former San Fransico 49ers Colin Kaepernick after he posted a video on the 4th of July where he questioned whether he could “celebrate independence on a day that intentionally robbed our ancestors of theirs”.
How can we truly celebrate independence on a day that intentionally robbed our ancestors of theirs? To find my independence I went home. pic.twitter.com/hniYGJeLxG

McHenry quickly fired shots at Kaepernick for posting the video with this tweet.
Because US soldiers deployed overseas sacrifice their lives for it. Bc the USA provides opportunity..like $10+ mil a year you used to make https://t.co/GrEmfXpvLl

And with this long blog post on her Tumblr.
So @Kaepernick7 can’t “truly celebrate” America. Well, I can. He expressed his beliefs & we can express ours. BLOG🇺🇸 https://t.co/3a74xqc025

“I’ll tell you how, Colin. Americans can celebrate the official birth of this nation because despite all its flaws, for one day, there’s a reminder of unity no matter how many efforts you make to dismantle it,”
“My admiration will always go towards the men and women who have walked away from their loved ones, through fields of IEDs, and into the dangerous unknown,” McHenry said. “It will never go to the athlete who takes a knee after losing his starting job.”
It’s kind of crazy that Colin Kaepernick is still a hot topic of discussion nearly a year after his first national anthem protest.
