An 89-Year-Old Scored A Touchdown In Kansas’ Alumni Football Game And The Defense Was Suspect

Bryan Sperry played for Kansas after serving in World War II and is undoubtedly more of a man than I can ever dream of becoming.

That said, his inspiring touchdown in the Jayhawks’ alumni flag football game is extremely suspect.

Of course, you don’t want a rogue roid-head taking out the knees of an 89-year-old American hero.

“I had a lot of fun after I convinced them that I could play,” [Sperry] said with a smile.

The good vibes in Lawrence were then immediately crushed as actual quarterback Michael Cummings destroyed his knee in the spring game. Clearly should have been given the Sperry convoy.
