Bryce Harper Literally Ripped The Cover Off Of A Ball With His Herculean Swing

The second most popular video on MLB.com from Thursday’s baseball action was a foul ball. No, the foul ball didn’t knock out some lady sitting in the stands who was too busy Facetiming with her sister about which cheesecake to get from Cheesecake Factory, the Chocolate Raspberry Truffle Cheesecake or the Caramel Pecan Turtle Cheesecake, instead of watching the action. The foul ball wasn’t even a screamer or a frozen rope. But the foul ball was hit by the dominant Bryce Haper, who hit the ball so hard that he ripped the cover off of it.

During the second inning of Thursday’s game between the Washington Nationals and the Baltimore Orioles, Harper just nubbed a 3-2 pitch. Despite getting just a piece of the pitch and only sending the ball 10-feet or so, Harper smacked the goddamn cover off of the baseball.

Harper finished the game by going 3-for-4 with a double, a run and RBI in the Nationals’ 6-1 win over the Orioles. Bryce Harper, the only baseball player who could make a crappy foul ball interesting.
