Some Fan Threw A Phone At Bryce Harper So He Took A Mid-Game Selfie

There are a few timeless American traditions. Apple pie. Fireworks on the Fourth of July. Disliking the French. And, of course, baseball.

But gone are the days when kids poured over box scores in the newspaper and listened to World Series games on transistor radios during school hours. Now we have Millennials turning the once-sacred cathedrals we call ballparks into just another venue for selfies.

Witness what happened to Bryce Harper yesterday. The Washington Nationals outfielder was minding his own business, playing in a game when a fan literally tossed him a phone and asked for a picture. Harper, currently the hottest hitter on the planet, obliged because, you know, he’s feeling 22.

In all seriousness, kudos to Harper for giving a few fans the thrill of a lifetime. And for keeping his meaty chaw in. We all know how important it is for an artist to capture the world as it is, tobacco stains and all.
