Carlos Correa’s MLB Opening Day Cleats Include A Sick Tribute To His Whole Family

Adidas continues to outdo itself in the custom cleat department. First it was Snoop Dogg’s money football cleats, and now it’s Carlos Correa’s one of a kind Icon Boost 1 “Familia” spikes that he debuted on Opening Day when his Astros took on the Yankees in the Bronx. If you didn’t read our whole interview with Correa, definitely do yourself a favor.

Chances are these things definitely make you a better player, because Correa literally just hit a two run bomb in the top of the sixth as I write this…

The Boost icon 1s play on the overarching theme of family, and represent the fusion of Carlos’ family, his Astros family and joining the adidas family.

The artwork is pretty damn cool, too, highlighting some of the most important things in the Puerto Rican slugger’s life.

From adidas:

Correa’s family artwork includes influences from Correa’s family, heritage, his background, etc. – including: Ponce, Puerto Rico; living by the water, fishing as a family, swimming with dolphins, Carlos Sr.’s work ethic, etc.

The Astros family artwork includes Texas, the Houston Astros, the Houston Astrodome, baseball design cues and living baseball 24/7.

The adidas family artwork includes the adidas Superstar and adidas NMD shoes, the hashtag #cleathead – which is bringing the sneakerhead mentality to baseball cleats, and three fingers up to represent living the adidas “three stripe life.”

Yeah, I have to get my hands on a pair of these for softball season, no questions asked.
