Cavs Players Are Reportedly Advising Jimmy Butler To ‘Stay Away’ After Dan Gilbert Fired GM

The situation in Cleveland appears to have taken a sharp turn in the past few days. Just yesterday, it was reported that several Cavs players including LeBron James and Kyrie Irving had reached out to Bulls star Jimmy Butler to help facilitate a trade between the two teams. Butler put in an end to the Cavs-Bulls trade talk when he informed the media that he planned to stay with Bulls next season.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Butler was told to “stay away” from the team because of Dan Gilbert’s sudden unpredictable nature.

According to a Cleveland source close to the situation, several of the Cavaliers who had been prodding Butler to push for a trade from the Bulls the last five days were now warning him to stay away from a suddenly volatile situation.

With the ouster of Cavaliers general manager David Griffin on Monday, LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love could be headed for an unforeseen early breakup.

The Cavs vehemently deny Sun-Times the report.

The Cavs are an absolute shit-show right now and fans have Dan Gilbert to thank for that.
