The Rockets were one player away from being legitimate threats to the Golden State Warriors last season and the addition of Chris Paul should at least make them competitive against Kevin Durant and company.
Update: Apparently Paul is leaving a lot of money on the table to join the Rockets.
Chris Paul opting in instead of signing new max contract now will cost him about $11 million next season. But he has a $3.6M trade kicker.
