Cyclist Eloy Teruel Celebrates Victory Too Early, Costs Himself Victory

Cyclist Eloy Teruel took a page out of Leon Lett’s playbook and prematurely celebrated victory in the seventh stage of the Tour of California Saturday, costing himself the victory.

Teruel apparently lost track of how many laps he had left and thought the cycling was over. As his arms were raised in triumph, several other cyclists with better counting skills whizzed by him.

The good news for Teruel is that those who finished before him will likely be implicated in a doping scandal in the near future.
