LSU’s Starting RB Derrius Guice Squatting 650-Pounds Is Straight Up Crazy

Leonard Fournette’s departure from the LSU Tigers will leave some mighty big shoes to fill. Before being drafted 4th overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars, Fournette set single-season LSU records with 1,953 rushing yards and 22 rushing touchdowns. Tigers fans have reason to worry about how their team will fill the void left by Fournette, but they can probably rest easy about the future after seeing this video.

Junior RB Derrius Guice rushed for 1,387 yards last season behind Fournette, and he’s set to take over the lion’s share of the workload this coming season. Anyone worried about his strength needs to check out these clips filmed last Friday which show Derrius Guice squatting 650-pounds in the LSU locker room:

According to SB Nation, squatting 650-pounds marks a significant increase in strength for LSU’s Derrius Guice who was filmed back in March maxing out at 538 pounds.

Squatting 650-pounds is impressive as hell, but I think we can all agree his form was compromised more than a little by this desire to max out. What’s crazy is 650-pounds pales in comparison to what FSU’s Derrick Nnadi is rumored to have squatted last week…750 POUNDS.
