Fan Gives NBA Legends Wildly Different Haircuts And This May Be The Best Thing You See Today

Can you imagine if Kobe Bryant rocked that obnoxious Odell Beckham/LaMelo Ball/Sonic The Hedgehog/Fuckboi/Chia Pet haircut during his Hall of Fame career? How would it have affected his public persona? Jersey sales? Copy cat cuts? Looking at Kobe with that haircut is like seeing the neighbor from Home Improvement’s entire face. It feels like the Earth’s axis is off tilt. Maybe instead of cheating on his wife, Sonic the Hedgehog Kobe would have just ignored Lena Dunham at the Met Gala? Maybe he would have let his overbearing father pioneer his career? Who knows, but I know one thing: I don’t know this Kobe and I wouldn’t stop for an autograph if I did.

Tyson Beck, a Digital Artist & Graphic Designer for the NBA, reimagined how NBA stars of the present and past would look if they sported a drastically different haircut. And I underestimated how visceral my reaction would be to seeing these.

Tyson Beck, if you’re reading this, your work isn’t done until you put cornrows on Larry Bird.

Matt’s love of writing was born during a sixth grade assembly when it was announced that his essay titled “Why Drugs Are Bad” had taken first prize in D.A.R.E.’s grade-wide contest. The anti-drug people gave him a $50 savings bond for his brave contribution to crime-fighting, and upon the bond’s maturity 10 years later, he used it to buy his very first bag of marijuana.
