The Amount Of Money Some Dude Paid For A Pair Of Courtside Seats To Game 5 Is Mind-Blowing

The Cavs extended their season on Friday but there’s a high probability that they will meet their demise tonight in Oakland, as the Warriors will be hungry not to give Cleveland any more oxygen to avoid the infamous 3-1 collapse of 2016.

20,000 fans will pack into Oracle Arena tonight in hopes of seeing their Warriors avenge the Finals loss last year while LeBron will try to will his way through his seventh consecutive appearance. Regardless of outcome, the amount of firepower displayed on the court this series has been historic. The two teams feature a combined 11 players who have been named All-Stars, the most in a Finals series since the 1983 matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Philadelphia 76ers.

The insane level of play makes people make insane monetary decisions. According to ESPN’s Darren Rovell, one person bought two floor tickets to Game 5 of the NBA Finals for $90,000 on the Warriors’ Ticketmaster resale site. Another person spent $82,000 on a pair of tickets. And, according to the Warriors’ Ticketmaster resale site, tickets for Game 5 of the NBA Finals are going anywhere from $685 to $57,000.

Last season, a fan paid nearly $100,000 for a pair of courtside tickets to Game 7 of the NBA Finals.

Meanwhile, I’ll be home watching the game on my 27” TV wondering how I can spread my current bank account balance until next payday.

The anti-drug people gave him a $50 savings bond for his brave contribution to crime-fighting, and upon the bond’s maturity 10 years later, he used it to buy his very first bag of marijuana.
