There’s A GoFundMe To Pay The Patriots $1M Fine, Since They Obviously Need Help With That

Some member of the New England Patriots nation has set up a GoFundMe page to aid the Pats in paying the $1,000,000 fine levied by the NFL in the the wake of the DeflateGate scandal…since Robert Kraft & co. clearly need help with that, seeing as the franchise is worth some $2.6 billion.

At the time of writing, the GoFundMe page established by Michael J. Whitman of Spokane, Wash., has amassed $2,019 dollars donated by 112 people. However, most of the donations have occurred within the last hour, as the page is noticeably picking up steam and donations are being made left and right in the name of Patriots honor.

Unfortunately, I was just made aware that our own Matt Keohan felt the disillusioned, Patriot-pride to contribute to this fund as well.

It probably would have been more fiscally responsible to light Alexander Hamilton’s face on fire and watch it burn, but hey, to each his own. Keohan maintains, “I’ve never been more clear-headed. Granted I can’t even pay rent this month, and I probably just gave my last $10 to a Nigerian Prince, but its the principle.”

A lot of Patriots fans are feeling that way today, I suppose.

Like Michael J. Whitman, who started the GoFundMe page. He explained in the description what most any Patriots fan willing to give money to the cause is probably feeling after the DeflateGate sanctions.

We obviously know we won’t reach One Million Dollars, however we do believe the fine is bulls**t and want to help anyway we can. So whatever is donated will be donated to the New England Patriots in help with the fine!

As we venture with this, we will do frequent updates to show progression of this! If enough is made to make the travel, we will fly down there (on our own expenses) and deliver a check in person!

Robert Kraft is probably sitting in his office suite in Gillette Stadium loving this right now, and based on the backlash we saw on social media yesterday, I seriously wouldn’t be surprised if this thing actually eclipses the $1M mark. Patriot fans are losing their damn minds over the sanctions, and it’d be just like them to take a “civic stand” and do their part to show the NFL how much they disagree.

And you know that somewhere, no doubt, Bill Belichick is smirking, wearing a hoodie with the sleeves cut-off, plotting another diabolical plan that will see the Pats will make an inevitable Super Bowl run, again, in the face of all this adversity.

Patriots vs. the World! #FreeBrady!!!
