Greg Anthony Arrested For Soliciting Prostitute, Suspended Indefinitely By CBS

CBS basketball analyst Greg Anthony was arrested and charged with soliciting a prostitute, District of Columbia police told the Associated Press.

Lt. Kelvin Cusick tells The Associated Press that Anthony was arrested at 5:46 p.m. on Friday. He said Saturday that Anthony faces a misdemeanor solicitation charge that’s punishable by up to 180 days in jail.

Cusick says the 47-year-old Anthony was released Friday evening. No further details were available.

According to the NCAA website, Anthony was scheduled to announce the Michigan State-Maryland men’s basketball game Saturday in nearby College Park, Maryland.

Anthony, a former New York Knick, has established himself as the network’s top analyst, earning the Final Four call last season.

The Spartans-Terrapins game tips off at 4 p.m. Things could get very awkward — whether Anthony is on the mike or his absence is addressed.

UPDATE: CBS wasted no time putting out the following statement:

“Greg Anthony will not be working again for CBS this season. He has been suspended indefinitely.”
