Former Bears Defender Jeremiah Ratliff Allegedly Claimed He Was ‘The Devil’ And ‘Felt Like Killing Everybody In The Building’ After Hearing Of Release

So, this is one of the scariest things I’ve ever heard coming from a sports team and/or athlete in my entire life.

According to a police report that was released this morning, former Chicago Bears defensive lineman Jeremiah Ratliff claimed to be the devil and made death threats while in the team’s headquarters on October 21. And, no, this wasn’t some Halloween prank, either.

After being sent home after the outrageous and scary claims, the Bears, rightfully, sent the four-time Pro Bowler home and released him, which didn’t seem to sit right with Ratliff, as he returned to team headquarters after hearing about his release and screaming that, “he felt like killing everybody in the building.”

Per the same police report, Ratliff also said that he “wished staff member’s children would die.”

Sounds like the dude was either on something or, no joke, may have just had one too many hits on the head during his career.

There were no charges filed and Ratliff has been silent since—but this is creepy, so hope the dude gets some help for whatever’s going on with him.
