Former NFL Wide Receiver Joe Horn Congratulates Roger Goodell For Being Great At ‘F**king Players Over’

I don’t think it’s much of a secret that Roger Goodell is not looked upon kindly by pretty much anybody. I feel like we’ve reached the point where every few days, a new player comes out and openly insults Goodell in one form or another. I’d say that’s a pretty good look for the entire NFL organization.

This afternoon, former NFL wide receiver Joe Horn of ‘the stashed cellphone in the goal post pad’ fame sat down with a couple of the fellas over at Busted Coverage for their Milk The Clock podcast. During the interview (which you can listen it in it’s entirety below), Horn had some choice words about Goodell.

“I’m not mad at Goodell for getting his money. I’m not a player hating on Roger. He gets his money by doing what his bosses want him to do. If that’s fucking the players over, hey, getting forty million dollars to fuck the players over even though they have a union is a great job.”

At least Horn was telling us how he really felt there. In all reality though, Horn’s comments say a lot about the current state of the league. This is the same guy who got fined thirty grand for hiding a dead cell phone in a goal post pad in order to use it as a touchdown celebration. Punishments like that are about as over the top as they come. And he still thinks that players nowadays are getting treated worse by the commissioner than he was. That’d be like if in 20 years Steven Avery came out and said that it’s sad how poorly the Justice System treats inmates when compared to how well he was treated in comparison. I don’t want to say that the days of Goodell are numbered, because I don’t know anything about the inner political machinations of the NFL, but I can’t imagine that people are thrilled with how the relationship has been shaping up between Commissioner and Player.

Also, big h/t to Busted on this one. You can listen to the entire podcast/interview below.
