Joe Thomas Blasts Seahawks’ Quinton Jefferson For Attempting To Fight Fan Who Threw Beer At Him

After being ejected in the final minutes of last night Jaguars-Seahawks game, Quinton Jefferson was making his way to the tunnel to get into the locker room when a fan threw a drink at him. Jefferson went to confront the fan and all hell broke loose.

After the game, Jefferson spoke the media and explained why he went after the fan.

“I’m not going to let somebody disrespect me, throw a beer on me,” Jefferson said. “Just because I’m playing football, I’m still a human being. I’m still a man.”

Outspoken Browns offensive lineman Joe Thomas did not like Jefferson’s excuse for wanting to fight the fan and proceeded to rip the Seahawks defensive lineman for not being able to control his emotions.

Saying “I’m a man,” and “I’m not going to let someone disrespect me” is the most childish and overplayed cliche in our society. What being a man really means is having the DISCIPLINE to look someone in the eye, control your emotions, and walk away.

While no one would fault Jefferson for beating the shit out of that fan for throwing a beer at him, the last thing the NFL needs right now is another controversy. The NFL needs to do its part and make sure that those fans who threw drinks on the field get arrested and are never allowed in an NFL stadium ever again.
