John Wall Spent His Off Night Refereeing A Special Olympics Game And Getting Snubbed On A High Five

John Wall and a handful of Wizards players spent their off night collaborating with the Special Olympics District of Columbia for their annual “Spread the Word to End the Word,” an event aimed at ending the use of the word ‘retard’ that negatively impacts people with intellectual disabilities.

The footage from the event is awesome, as the Wiz seemed to have given the Special Olympic athletes some memories that they won’t soon forget.

John Wall won’t soon forget getting completely snubbed on a high five after a made three either.

SHADE.

It’s all good, he hit the dude with an unwarranted traveling call later in the game.

Otto Porter giving his squad a pep talk.

Gortat getting in on the pre-game introductions:

All around good fun.

Props to the John Wall and the Wizards organization for bro-ing out on their off night. Can’t see enough of this stuff.

The anti-drug people gave him a $50 savings bond for his brave contribution to crime-fighting, and upon the bond’s maturity 10 years later, he used it to buy his very first bag of marijuana.
