Johnny Manziel’s off-the-field issues have been well-chronicled. From his stint in rehab to his alleged life of continuous partying, despite repeated warnings, bro obviously has some issues.
All of which have led his team, the Cleveland Browns, to be faced with the decision this off-season as to whether Johnny Football is really worth all of the hassle.
However, they aren’t the only organization reportedly thinking that it might just be better to cut Johnny loose. Now comes a report that Nike, Manziel’s biggest sponsor, is also considering giving him his walking papers.
According to TMZ…
…one highly placed Nike source tells us … “We are worried about him and hope things will turn around in the right direction … but we are on the fence if [our relationship] will continue.”
Nike wouldn’t be the only company that has supported Manziel in the past to cut him loose either.
Just last week, Manziel was dropped from LeBron James’ marketing agency LRMR — with the organization saying Johnny needs to work on “personal growth.”
So will Johnny Manziel finally wake up and realize that he’s pissing away his football life or will he just become a nice entertaining bookend to Todd Marinovich’s story on 30 For 30? Because you know someday, one way or another, there’s definitely going to be one of those about Johnny Football.
