Jonny Gomes’ Epic World Series Parade Speech Might’ve Been Better Than Winning The Actual World Series

Today, as Kansas City celebrated its first Royals World Series victory in 30 years, Jonny Gomes stole the goddamn show with a speech that was equally obnoxious as it was hilarious. Ironic, too, because Gomes didn’t even have a postseason plate appearance, but nonetheless, many of his teammates credit him for being a great clubhouse guy that holds the team together. I’m guessing this kind of stuff is exactly why.

Grabbing the mic and touting an enormous American flag the whole time, Gomes riled up the Kansas City faithful with chiding commentary about the competition the Royals bested throughout the season, leaving his teammates in fits of laughter as they looked on. Gomes capped off the ridiculous rant with an epic mic drop resembling a bat flip, and the crowd WENT. FUCKING. WILD.

“”

As sports reporter Andrew Joseph on stated on Twitter, yes, “Jonny Gomes was born to give this speech.”

Well done, bro. Well done indeed.
