Justin Thomas Pulled Out A Wedge To Sink A Five-Foot Shot On The Green

Golf is governed by a number of seemingly arbitrary rules, and Justin Thomas found himself at the mercy of one of the most asinine while competing for the CJ Cup in South Korea. The 24-year-old hit a shot within five feet of the cup, but his path to the hole was impeded by some pretty serious spike marks.

Thomas would have incurred a two-stroke penalty if he repaired the green, so he was forced to come up with a novel solution. He had his caddy grab a wedge out of his bag and carefully lined up his shot before showing why he was named PGA Tour Player of the Year.

This dangerous shot for bogey was probably one of his best of the round, as he finished with a 74 on the day. At least he had something to brag about in the clubhouse.
