During Saturday’s qualifier for the African Cup of Nations, South Africa’s Hlompho Kekana found the net with this absurd strike from his own side of the midfield. The Bafana midfielder’s shot was so pure it might’ve had a chance to go in even if Cameroon’s keeper wasn’t wildly off his line, as clearly he was caught flat footed and unsuspecting.

Seen a few in my day drop from a step or two over the midfield stripe, but can’t recall a goal being scored from this deep in a long, long while. Heck of a shot. SportsCenter Top 10 tonight without a question.

The match ended in a 2-2 draw, unfortunately damaging the Bafana’s hopes of qualifying for the tournament.
