Khabib Nurmagomedov, a two time Combat Sambo World Champion, has an idea of who he’d like to fight next, and was already talking about DURING his fight at UFC 205 against Michael Johnson.
The Russian wrecking machine, who currently sits at 24-0 in MMA, has his sights firmly set on one Conor McGregor and his lightweight championship.
As he was laying a beatdown on Johnson en route to a victory by submission in the third round (after kindly telling Johnson he needed to give up before he broke his arm) Nurmagomedov took some time to deliver a message to Dana White who was seated ringside, saying, “I need to fight for the title. You know this. I deserve this.”
“Hey be careful. I’m gonna smash your boy,” Nurmagomedov told White between rounds.
“Just get through this first,” replied White.
And he did, no problem.
Amazing…
After the fight, on the mic, Nurmagomedov reiterated the fact that he wanted McGregor and backed it up once again with a threat on Twitter Wednesday afternoon…
I want to fight for @ufc title for respect but if I don't get my title shot next I have different plan I won't be fighting in UFC @danawhite

I don’t know if Nurmagomedov will get his wish, but it would be a damn shame to see him walk away from the UFC if it doesn’t happen right away.
