Has there ever been a more compelling NBA Finals series that hasn’t been all that competitive on the court as this year’s between the Cleveland Cavs and Golden State Warriors?
While the Dubs are just 48 or so minutes away from their second-straight title thanks to a commanding 3-1 lead on the Cavs, trash talk between the two teams are at a premium, with people like Steph Curry’s wife throwing shade at LeBron James, as well as others.

And after Klay Thompson said that he thought LeBron’s “feelings must have been hurt” after being called a bitch by teammate Draymond Green, Thompson’s dad—former NBA player Mychal Thompson—has gotten in the James shit-talking:
Klay not the only Thompson going in on LeBron. Mychal on radio on complaining: "Are we now this PC that we can't trash talk on the court?"

Mychal Thompson: "Are you freaking kidding me? Who complains to the media about being called a name?"

Mychal Thompson: "We all respect LeBron's ability..but man sometimes he acts too entitled like he's supposed to get everything he wants."

Mychal "I cannot believe..what we're facing tonight bc a player complained ab being called a certain word that rhymes w witch on the court."
— Diamond Leung (@diamond83) June 13, 2016
Mychal Thompson: "LeBron (James) couldn't have survived in the 80s with the physicality and the words guys said to each other back then."

Everything the elder Thompson says seems to be pretty much on point with what others are saying, but to suggest that the bullying James couldn’t last in the ’80s because of the physicality of the game back then is a direct shot at his toughness.
Who knows how this series will play out—even as a Cavs fan, I have a bad feeling it ends tonight with a Golden State blowout. But one thing’s for sure, the Dubs are playing with fire by poking a sleeping bear in LeBron James, who has the potential to go off and play with extra determination to snag a title for The Land.
