Report: Kyrie Irving Will Ask The Cavs To Trade Him If LeBron James Leaves In 2018

It seems like the Cleveland Cavaliers super team may be coming to an end soon. For the past few weeks we’ve heard rumblings that LeBron James wants to head out west and play for an L.A. team after his contract with the Cavs expires after next season. Now it appears that Kyrie Irving has no interest in playing with the team if LeBron leaves in 2018.

Via Chicago Sun Times.

All-Star Kyrie Irving has been contacting some of his former Team USA teammates and letting them know that he might be willing to push for a trade, especially if he feels the Cavs’ run could end quickly with James able to opt out after next season.

Through back channels, Chicago would be one of the places that Irving would be interested to play.

Clearly the asking price for Irving would be too rich for what the Bulls have, and a third team would also have to be brought into that mix.

Sounds like the Cavs are going back to sucking for a very long time if LeBron and Kyrie end up leaving in 2018.
