Rumors About LeBron James Leaving The Cavs And Forming New Super Team In L.A. Are Popping Up

Well that didn’t take long. Now that the Cavs are on the brink of elimination after getting destroyed by the Warriors in the NBA Finals, rumors are beginning to pop up about LeBron’s potential departure from the team.

According the Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor from “The Ringer” multiple NBA sources have told him that LeBron may decide to leave Cleveland in 2018 to form a new super team out in L.A. either with the Clippers or the Lakers.

Multiple league sources I’ve spoken to think the Lakers or Clippers are viable destinations for King James. Jalen Rose said this week on First Take that he expects LeBron to make a move from Cleveland to California, where he already owns a house 30 minutes away from Staples Center. The Lakers make sense if LeBron wants to build a sustainable winner with a core blend of veterans and youthful talent like Paul George — if, as NBA gossip suggests, George truly is “hell-bent” on going to L.A. — and Brandon Ingram. The Clippers make sense if LeBron wants to form a Banana Boat Voltron with Chris Paul, Dwyane Wade, and Carmelo Anthony.

The move would make sense for LeBron becuase unless Cavs GM David Griffin pulls a free agent out of his ass in the offseason it seems like the team is doomed against the Warriors for a good long while.

LeBron is still under contract for next season and wouldn’t be able to leave Cleveland until the summer of 2018 but the rumors are going to keep getting hot and heavy for the next year or so.
