No reason was given as to what possessed LeBron James, out of the blue, to take a run at youth basketball coaches in a Twitter rant on Sunday, but I have a few guesses.
1) This whole thing is a subtweet (as James has been known to do) at one of his kids’ coaches
2) He’s sending another (indirect) message to LaVar Ball after their little dustup.
3) LeBron was inspired by the fact that Frank Martin, the very vocal coach of South Carolina, made the Final Four.
4) It just a commentary on youth basketball in general that he had rolling around in his head for awhile and needed to get out.
Regardless of the reason, James does make many very valid points about the state of coaching kids and youth basketball in general…

Love it. Preach, King!
Oh, I just came up with another possible reason. Perhaps this has to do with the fact that kids in general are so coddled now that they are taking “adulting” classes and many don’t even consider themselves to be adults until the age of 30.
Eh, I am still betting it had something to do with LaVar Ball, because doesn’t everything in basketball revolve around him now?
