LiAngelo Ball Says UCLA Forced Him To Thank Donald Trump In Apology Speech

CNN

When LiAngelo Ball, Cody Riley and Jalen Hill first spoke to the media after returning to the United States a week after being arrested for shoplifting in China, all three players thanked President Donald Trump, who had demanded the players to thank him for asking Chinese President to help out with their case.

LiAngelo Ball “I would also like to thank President Trump and the United States government for the help that they provided ”

Today, during an interview with The Breakfast Club radio show ,LiAngelo revealed that he was forced by the school thank Trump in his apology speech

Interviewer: Did it hurt to apologize to Trump?

LiAngelo Ball: They wanted to hear that, and he tweeted about it before my speech so i had to add him in there.

Interviewer
: Did the school make you do that?

LiAngelo Ball:
I wrote my original speech and then I had to put his part in there in the morning like right before I went in.

Interviewer: Did you do it because he (the President) tweeted about it?

LiAngelo Ball: Actually my school wanted to hear it too. Like before I went up there they were like, you gotta say something.

Interviewer: If you knew you were going to Lithuania and you weren’t going to be at UCLA, would you have thanked him?

LiAngelo Ball: If they didn’t tell me to do it he wouldn’t have been in there to be honest.

While he’s probably going to catch some heat for the revelation at least LiAngelo is being honest.
