Lonzo Ball has only been in the NBA for a few months but he’s already been the most scrutinized player in the league. Every single thing that Lonzo does is debated and talked about on nearly a daily basis.
In the middle of last night’s Suns-Lakers game, Lakers guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope got into a heated altercation with Suns’ Tyler Ulis during the fourth quarter of the game. The video of the altercation went viral when Ball was seen walking away from the incident without helping his teammate.

After the loss, Ball explained why he didn’t try and jump into the beef between KCP and Ullis.
“It’s the NBA,” he said,. “People ain’t really gonna fight, so I ain’t trying to get no tech.”
Lonzo’s teammate Brandon Ingram sided with Ball, telling reporters the fight was “all false action.”
Even with all the excuses, fans tore into Lonzo on Twitter for failing to back up his teammate during a heated moment in the game.

Lonzo could be 100 percent right here but he could have at least faked tried to intervene.
This is obviously not a good look for Lonzo but in the grand scheme of things it probably isn’t a big deal unless other players in the league see it as a weakness to exploit. So far this season Lonzo and his laid back demeanor hasn’t appeared to respond well to aggression from other players. Eventually Lonzo is going to have to stand up for himself and his teammates.
