Matthew McConaughey Congratulates Fellow ‘Local’ Nick Foles On Winning Super Bowl With Full-Page Ad

Nick Foles has caught the eye of the entire world after leading the Philadelphia Eagles to a 41-33 victory over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 52. Even people who are not Eagles fans were taken aback by the poise and leadership displayed by Foles in Super Bowl LII. One person who was thoroughly impressed by Foles’ Super Bowl-winning performance was a guy from the same hometown — Matthew McConaughey.

Foles deservedly took home the Super Bowl MVP after throwing for 373 yards, notching three touchdowns, and catching another TD. Game recognizes game, especially when they’re both from the same hometown. McConaughey was so impressed by Foles that he congratulated the Eagles quarterback with a full-page newspaper ad. The award-winning Hollywood actor took out a full-page advertisement in the Austin American-Statesman to let acknowledge Foles for his accomplishment. McConaughey gave a huge shoutout to his fellow “local” Nick Foles, who is also an Austin, Texas native, just like McConaughey. “From one local to another, Congratulations Nick Foles. just keep livin, Matthew McConaughey.” That’s such a McConaughey thing to say and a very classy move.
