Michael Irvin Isn’t Too Happy Cris Carter Told His Wife to Leave Him

Wide receivers are good at two things: catching passes and running their mouths. So it shouldn’t be too surprising two of the best in each department, Michael Irvin and Cris Carter, have beef.

Irvin was a guest on Dan Le Batard’s radio show yesterday to discuss the situation surrounding troubled Cleveland Browns receiver Josh Gordon. The Hall of Famer disagreed with Carter, who has been advocating Gordon’s release. But Irvin didn’t stop there. Instead, he opened up the scrapbook and shared a story from the past in which Carter stuck his nose where it really didn’t belong.

“Even though I love Cris to death … I don’t know what year it was, we were in the Pro Bowl … [Cris] said to my wife – to my wife – you know, Mike would never, he would never come out of this problem until you leave him.”

(Irvin, shouting): TIL YOU LEAVE HIM!

For years I’ve held that. I’ve never shared that with anybody. I was so hurt when Cris … because he was out of line [bleep] then and he’s out of line now.”

Now, to be fair, the former Cowboys great wasn’t exactly an angel. Cocaine is a hell of a drug. But he still obviously harbors a grudge.

The only logical thing here is to put these two in a studio apartment for an entire football season and make a reality show out of it. It would be huge with people who like shouting.
