Never Before Seen Video Of Michael Jordan’s ‘The Shot’ Is Awesome, Ends Just As Depressing For Cleveland Sports Fans

Don’t give me this bullshit about Kobe Bryant, LeBron James or anyone else, because Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player the game has ever seen.

Sure, there were guys who won a few more titles than MJ did—who had six for those who “aren’t really into sports”—but few had the impact and epic performances that His Airness did during the biggest of stages.

Whether it was dropping 63 on the Celtics in the Boston Garden, pouring in 38 during an NBA Finals game with the fucking flu or hitting multiple game-winners both in the regular season and playoffs, there was a reason we all wanted to be like Mike.

One of Jordan’s most famous shots came against the Cleveland Cavs during a playoff game in 1989, where he caught the inbound pass, got to the foul-line, hung in the air, double-clutched and broke the hearts of Clevelanders (again).

While we’ve all seen the one angle above of Jordan over Ehlo, never before seen video just popped up out of nowhere of a different angle—with the same, unfortunate result for all the Cavs fans out there.

“”

Known simply as “The Shot,” the vid shows Jordan and his mates celebrating like they had just won an NBA Finals game—which didn’t happen till a few years later—with the cameraman and reporter getting right up in their faces to capture it all.

As someone who spent his fucking first communion money on a pair of ’92 J’s, you better believe that I thought this was a rad video—even if I am a Cleveland sports fan.
