Mike Shanahan Almost Quit as Redskins Coach Says Source Who Totally Isn’t Mike Shanahan

BUT, Robert Griffin III blew out his knee and Mike Shanahan couldn't, since he thought that would look terrible. (You know, running a promising kid into the ground for the sake of your own career then bailing.) And why would Mike Shanahan want to quit the wonderful Redskins? Dan Snyder, of course.

Disillusioned with the way Snyder was running the organization, Shanahan cleaned out his office in advance of January's wild-card playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks and expected to leave the team whenever the season ended, according to a source who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

He packed it in before the playoffs? Was he expecting to lose that game? What a fucking piece of shit. According to the awesome story, Shanahan felt his boss, Dan Snyder, was too buddy-buddy with his star QB.

The source said Shanahan had grown tired of the way Snyder empowered Griffin and openly esteemed him above all other players.

How did Snyder empower Griffin?

Snyder regularly sent his security team to accompany Griffin when he went out in Washington. Snyder's personal driver was spotted picking up Griffin's then-fiancee (now wife) at road games… After Kirk Cousins relieved an injured Griffin last December in Cleveland and led Washington to a 38-21 victory over the Browns, players and coaches spotted Snyder standing at the quarterbacks' lockers, talking only to Griffin while, one source said, Snyder “didn't acknowledge” Cousins.

Well, we already knew Dan Snyder was a star fucker. Fuck him. But the question is, who leaked this story? Snyder? Maybe, as he probably wants shitty-ass Shanahan gone. “He can't coach us, he's given up.” But Snyder never needed popular opinion to make moves. Could it be RG3? Possibly, but I doubt he would tell a reporter stories about his girlfriend.

HMMMMM. Who does that leave? The guy who got into a shit job and now no longer wants it? The guy trying to save face at 3-9? “Hey, don't blame me, I wanted to quit last year.” Ahh, yup. That's it.

Check back after the Skins lose to Kansas City for what will be a delightful press conference.
