This (Literally) Skull-Shattering KO Was Voted Knockout Of The Year At The World MMA Awards

I guess when you literally shatter the skull of your opponent when you knock them out you’re kind of a shoo-in for MMA Knockout of the Year. Because that is exactly what the man you see above, Michael Page did to Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos at Bellator 158, and that’s the honor that he won this past weekend at the World Mixed Martial Arts Awards.

Santos, the ex-husband of female mixed martial artist Cris “Cyborg” Justino, was so badly injured that it took seven hours of surgery to put him back together again.

After surgery Santos said that wasn’t done fighting and hoped to be back in the cage within three months. So far it’s been over seven months and that hasn’t happened and according to reports it won’t ever be happening. Probably for the best.
